On 20th August 2017, The Helping Hand club in Jigme Namgyel Engineering College organized the Open Khuru Tournament mainly to bring people together for interaction, celebration and to raise fund for the club. The motive of the Club is to provide a helping hand and resources to needy community. With the funds from this open Khuru tournament, the Unit aims to accelerate their mandates and create a harmonious region.
Total of 42 teams registered for the tournament from the various region such as Pemagatshel, Nganglam and Bangtar. First prize was bagged by Nyamrub Nga from Dewathang with LED TV of 22” for each participant and second and third prize was respectively taken by Shedra team and Morphu five. Further the prizes was also awarded for best player.
This is the first ever tournament organized by the club and it’s a way forward in preserving the country’s traditional sports and it will continue for the benefit of the college, community and neighboring regions.
