On 9th October 2017 the Honorable Vice Chancellor Dasho Nidup Dorji of the Royal University of Bhutan visited Jigme Namgyel Engineering College and granted an audience to the first year students. The main objective of his meeting with first year students was to create awareness on the significance of the various programmes offered in the RUB colleges and in particularly the programmes offered in JNEC. During his visit he also highlighted on the negative effects of substance abuse.
During the talk, he also discussed on the challenges, importance and scopes of various programmes and in particularly the new programme B.E in Mechanical Engineering and B.E Power Engineering. After the event many students were aware of the scope of their respective programmes and were encouraged to excel in their studies. Mr. Tashi Tshering from Civil Department shared to Publication Unit that, “Today’s discussion made me understand about the various scopes of the programmes and can foresee a better future.” Similarly, another student Mr. Ugyen Tshering from management department said that such discussion not only inspired him to study hard but also made him more determined to pursue his goal of becoming a successful person.
