With an aim to produce competent technical personnel, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College had developed active international linkages with Japan, Europe and India. Many facilities have been rendered from these linkages.
One of the significant achievement from the international Linkages is the receiving of 3D printer, which probably makes JNEC, as the first organization to receive it in the country. The 3D printer is donated by Professor (Dr.) Junichi Kurata from Kansai University, Japan.
The machine is installed in JNEC during the visit by Vice-President of Kansai University Professor (Dr.) Yutaka Maeda and three member from the same University. During their stay in JNEC from November 2-7, 2017; Prof. (Dr.) Junichi Kurata will train faculty and staff to use the machine. Furthermore the machine will be used by the Mechanical Engineering Department of JNEC for the proposed Degree Programme in Mechanical Engineering.
In order to develop the proposed Programme, JNEC has been seeking advice from Kansai University and other reputed colleges in India and Europe. Recently the proposal for the establishment of B.E in Mechanical Engineering in JNEC has been selected and recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology – Japan- 2017 under the ‘Edu-Port Japan’ (dissemination of Japanese-style education using public-private collaborative platforms) project. Currently, Asst. Prof. Masanori Ogata, former Lecturer in KU is also attached with JNEC to support the development of the BEME Programme and also teach few specialized modules.
The professors from Kansai University will conduct Guest Lecture specifically for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Students and on December 21- 28 (2017), 10 students and one faculty member from JNEC will visit Japan, under the collaborative project between Kansai University and JNEC, funded by Japan Science and Technology Agency.
RUB and Kansai University, Japan had signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2016 and many activities had been conducted between the two university and currently with the visit by Vice-President of Kansai University, JNEC had a discussion on further collaborative activities, especially joint research, joint-projects, student exchange and HR development.
