Jigme Namgyel Engineering College offered a Tashi khaddar to Mr. Samten Lhendup and Mr. Shah Bir Rai on 28th August 2017 as the new Dean of Academic Affairs and Students Affairs respectively.
The New Dean of Academic Affairs, Mr. Samten Lhendup joined the Jigme Namgyel Engineering College in 2004 as an Assistant Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department when it was temporarily relocated to Royal Bhutan Institute of Technology in Rinchending, Phuentsholing. He served the College as Head of the Mechanical Engineering department for three years. He has a Masters in Energy Engineering from University of Sannio, in Italy. He was also the student of the then Royal Bhutan Polytechnic (Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic) in the year 1996 and pursued his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Regional Engineering College now known as National Institute of Technology, Warangal, in India.
The New Dean of Student Affairs, Mr. Shah Bir Rai joined the then Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic (JNEC) in 2008 as an Assistant Lecturer in Electrical Engineering Department. He served the college as Chief Provost and also as a provost for 6 years. He has a Masters in Power System from College of Engineering, Osmania University in Hyderabad. He did his Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering from College of Science and Technology under Royal University of Bhutan.
The JNEC family concluded the event significantly with the Zhugdrel Phuensum Tshogpa ceremony.
