Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, Dewathang conducted a two-day STEM workshop for class 11 and class 12 Science students of Karmaling Higher Secondary School,Samdrup Choling, Samdrup Jongkhar on 21st and 22nd March 2024. It was primarily aimed at connecting the gap between theoretical science concepts taught in school and their practical applications. The two-day Programme focused on integrating controllers, sensors, and actuators to demonstrate the practical aspects of science, especially in the field of automation and IoT (Internet of Things). By doing hands-on experiment, students were able to gain deeper understanding of the scientific principles which were translated to physical system. The practical demonstrations, interactive session, and key lectures on relating theories and practical would empower students to explore more and develop creativity, critical thinking as well as problem solving skills.
This collaborative effort by the JNEC to KHSS not only augments the educational experience of the students but also boosts and strengthens the ties between college and the community. By conducting and engaging teachers in such programme, college has ensured the commitment towards nurturing the students not only within the college, but also in the region.
