A week long training on ‘Real Estate and Facility Management Practices’ which has been designed to benefit the Estate Managers and the Site Engineers working under Royal University of Bhutan has been successfully conducted from 18th – 23rd December, 2018 at Jigme Namgyel Engineering College.
The training provided participants with a comprehensive knowledge and skills on the real estate, facility and construction management, including an introduction on how management enhances productivity and reduces cost. The programme also provided an opportunity for the participants to discuss and share experiences on real estate and construction management in their respective colleges/university. In-depth discussion had been carried out through learning journey and field visits expected to focus on good practices.
The programme in general had introduced the participants to various components of real estate, facility and construction management irrespective of their work experience.
As a part of the training, a study tour was also planned and the participants visited Indian Institute of Technology in Guwahati and National Institute of Technology in Shillong. The participants also visited ACC block manufacturing plant and some local construction sites.
The training was resourced by Mr. Hemlal Bhattarai (Dean of Research and Industrial Linkages & Construction Manager and Construction Manager) and Asst. Prof. Parashuram Sharma from Jigme Namgyel Engineering College.
