Jigme Namgyel Engineering College has been engaged in several projects including staff and student exchange programmes with partners in Japan, namely, Kansai University and Society of Experts for Construction Equipment (SECONEQ).
As part of the ongoing activities, Dr. Andu Dukpa, President of JNEC welcomed the following experts from Japan on Aug 12, 2019:1. Mr. Hajime Shirai, Representative Director of SECONEQ, and2. Mr. Akihiro Shimizu, Field Surveyor.
The two experts will be attached with the Department of Civil Engineering and Surveying (JNEC) and will train staff and students in the area of surveying, geoinformatics and GIS.
JNEC has launched two additional degree programmes from July 2019; 1) B.E. in Mechanical Engineering, and 2) B.E. in Surveying & Geoinformatics.
B.E. in Mechanical Engineering programme has already been recognized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Japan as an EDU-Port Project. Several other activities are in the pipeline.
