Jigme Namgyel Engineering College is pleased to receive new students on campus. The college warmly received new students on the campus on 17th and 18th July, with support from Student Affairs Team, Student Leaders and Staff Desuups.
In order to facilitate quarantine and smooth travel for new students from the various parts of the country, the college communicated and sought assistance from the Southern C19TF. The College facilitated 14 buses from Thimphu, Trongsa, Zhemgang, Bumthang, Lhuntse, Mongar, Tashi Yangtse, and Trashigang for the students. The college also managed vehicle to pick students from Pemagatshel and for those coming from within the Samdrup Jongkhar. Upon their arrival in the college, the new students were kept in self-isolation for few days and avoided any mixing amongst students and staff to prevent any unfavourable situations that could rise otherwise.
The college convened Registration & Orientation programme to new students on 23rd -24th July 2021, adhering to COVID-19 protocols. During the orientation, brief introduction of Acting President, Deans, Heads of the various Departments, and Section Heads was given followed by orientation session from Dean (AA), Dean (SA) and Sr. ICT Officer of the college. Later in the afternoon, the respective departments familiarized students in groups about classrooms, laboratorys, workshops, library, different utility centers and other facilities in and around the college in smaller groups.
The college would like to once again welcome each student, and congratulate them for successfully getting selected in JNEC to pursue chosen programme at Diploma and Bachelors level. The college wishes them luck and success in fulfilling their academic goals, build interpersonal skills and relationships, and all future endeavors.
