The MoU will enable the partners to collaborate in various capacity development and strengthen the knowledge and skills transfer initiatives in both directions. Facilitation of industrial experience guest lectures from Vajra, field attachment of staff of JNEC-RUB at Vajra, and facilitating internship of JNEC-RUB students at Vajra are part of the bilateral agreements. Further, JNEC shall facilitate short-term/part-time training of staff of Vajra.
Mr. Jamtsho, Chief Executive Officer highlighted that today’s graduates lack job-ready skills. He also understands that academic institutions cannot provide industry experience-based skills on campus, hence, it is the responsibility of stakeholders to support in providing job-ready skills with industrial experience. Therefore, CEO iterated that the Vajra Builders are committed to collaborating with academic institutions like JNEC in imparting and developing the graduates with job-ready skills. Through this collaboration, students and staff of JNEC will be exposed to and trained in industry hands-on skills.
On the other hand, the President of JNEC also shared the same concern about the job readiness of graduates. To facilitate and ensure the graduates are equipped with knowledge and skills in the job market, upcoming cohorts will undergo a semester-long industrial attachment. Thanking the Vajra Builders for being the first industry to have agreed to MoU, President informed the members that JNEC will reach out to other stakeholders to initiate the MoU.
