A 3 day introductory workshop on Universal Human Values was organized by Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) fr0m 19th – 21st Sept. 2016 in JNEC campus. The objective of the workshop is to impart basic knowledge in understanding the role of education in ensuring Right Understanding of one’s own imagination leading to Right Evaluation of our requirements on basis of Natural Acceptance. It also talk about responsibilities, trust, relationship and ensuring our existence as co-existence. A total of 54 participants from various organizations in and around Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag participated in the workshop and was resourced by Ganeshji and Rajul Asthana from Kanpur, India.
The opening and closing ceremony of the 3 days’ workshop was graced by Honorable Dasho Neten Zangmo, Executive Director of SJI, Samdrup Jongkhar. She shared that we all know what human values are but questioned how much of us practice those values. Dasho also proposed if JNEC, SJI, Thromde and Dewathang local leaders could commit and work together to make the Dewathang a GNH community, a value-based community.
All the participants expressed their gratitude for organizing such a valuable workshop during the Reflection Session which will help them to understand oneself better and perform better in future.
