On 12th September 2016, Ms. Pem Lama, Director of Research, Communication & Finance and Ms. Ugyen Lham, Senior Researcher of the Green Public Procurement in Bhutan (GPP Bhutan) project visited the College to advocate and familiarize faculty, staff and students on the concept of ongoing project aimed to implement GPP practices in Bhutan.
The delegates shared significant ideas behind GPP project which includes sustainable procurement, lifecycle thinking and preference of goods, services and infrastructure viewing economic, environment and social aspects. With broad vision of GPP, faculty, staff and students were oriented on the essential role that individual can contribute in achieving environmental conservation and socio-economic development as a national goals through this project.
Since college has introduced Diploma in Materials and Procurement Management, graduates of this programme are found relevant in implementing the ideas in the procurement system of the country along with many other students undergoing IT and Engineering programmes.
