On 27th June, 2017, Jigme Namgyel Engineering College organized the first Inter-programme Conference on Engineering, Information Technology and Management with a theme “Enhancing Academic Excellence through Innovation and Research”. A total of 14 papers from 7 different programmes were presented during the conference.
The Conference which will be an annual event henceforth was funded by Institute for GNH Studies (iGNHas) under the Department of Research and External Relations at the Office of the Vice Chancellor . The coordinator of the conference Mr. Hemlal Bhattarai, Dean, Research and Industrial Linkages in his welcome address shared the overall objectives of the conference as;
- To develop skills for conference preparation
- To provide platform for sharing the innovative and research work
- To infuse innovation and research culture for academic achievement.
Dr. Andu Dukpa, President of the college, who chaired the conference, in his opening remarks shared the essence of such platform in academic setting. He shared that such move will enhance quality in academic performance apart from other multiple benefits. He encouraged the faculties and students to meaningfully engage in such activities, which has values and essence for the overall growth of individual and the College.
The conference papers were judged by panelists and the three best papers were awarded certificates along with cash prizes. The other remaining participants were awarded cash prizes as consolation prize. A total of 400 students along with staff witnessed the Conference.
