About Rovers Scout
About the club
Rover Scouting was introduced at Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic from the year 2009. The members were inducted purely on voluntary basis. Every year new members were inducted from the first year students, and then register with Bhutan Scout association. After their formal registration, they will be taught on the basic fundamentals of scouting and simultaneously carry out scouting activities in the Institute. Towards the end of the year, investiture ceremony is carried out, where the successful members will receive their scarf and badges.
Objectives of Scouting:
Provide young people with opportunities to complete their personal development through six areas of growth, which scouting recognizes as: physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual and character development. Rovering will provide opportunity to young people to acquire experience and skills in leadership to undertake social responsibility and enhance voluntarism.
