Gaeddu College of Business Studies (GCBS) continued their winning streak and booked a spot in the final by defeating the Sherubtshe College team in the on-going JNEC Open football tournament organized by Jigme Namgyel Engineering College.
GCBS defeated Shercol 3-0 in the second semifinal and will play Dragon FC in the final on 15th May. GCBS took the lead in 33rd minutes when the referee awarded them a penalty for the foul committed by the goalie in the penalty area. Tshering D Dorji of GCBS converted a free kick to lead by 2-0 in the 52nd minutes. In 62nd minutes Ngawang Tashi struck again and shattered the hopes of Shercol teams to. Ngawang Tashi is the top scorer in the team with 8 goals in the tournament so far.
Dragon FC, a team from Nganglam is the second finalists and they defeated Sonam Tyres in the first semi-final played on 11th may. Tshering Wangchuk scored a stunning goal in the dying minutes of the first half to put forward the Dragon boys. Again in 73rd, Tshering Wangchuk struck yet another thrilling goal to guarantee a place in the final on 15th may.
