16th Dec. 2014: On the first day of the final games, the winners in basketball and volleyball in both categories (boys and girls) were decided. The first ever university games is being held at Jigme Namgyel Polytechnic to commemorate the 60th birth anniversary of His Majesty, the 4th Druk Gyalpo.
Volleyball Final for Girls: In volleyball final match, Sherubtse College dominated the game and defeated Paro College of Education with three straight sets securing 25-16, 24-8, 25-14.
Basketball Final for Girls: In basket ball final, Samtse College of Education defeated Paro College of Education by a margin of single basket. Samtse girls secured 16 points against 14 points by Paro girls.
Volleyball Final for Boys: In a very thrilling match between Gaedug College of Business Studies and Paro College of Education, both teams never failed to entertain the spectators till the end of the match.
First set went in favor of GCBS but PCE boys fought back to sealed the second set. Determined GCBS boys sealed the 3rd set to lead the match with 2:1 advantage. In the fourth set, PCE boys showed another show of brilliance in their play and won the set to take the team to the deciding fifth set. In the final deciding set, the PCE boys succumbed to the determined GCBS boys and GCBS boys ultimately sealed the victory with 25-22, 27-29, 25-22, 27-29, 25-22.
Basketball Final for Boys: In basketball final, College of Science and Technology defeated Paro College of Education. Until the 3rd quarter, PCoE boys took the lead but in fourth set CST took the lead and held on till the end to win the match with 21-18.
