Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC) and Wroclaw University of Science and Technology (WUST), Poland have been executing Erasmus+ programme since 2017. Exchange programme has been active between the two institutes and on 2nd March 2020, two professors, Prof. Marek Mlynczak and Prof. Robert Andrzej LIS from the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Department of Electrical Engineering respectively visited the College.
Prof. Robert Andrzej LIS gave a lecture on “Renewable Energy System” to the faculty, staff and students of the Department of Electrical Engineering and Prof. Marek Mlynczak gave a lecture on “Safety and Reliability Engineering” to the faculty, staff and students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Apart from lectures, discussions were also held with the respective departments as well as the management to find potential areas to enhance the exchange programme and improve/strengthen future collaborations in the area of research and academic quality enhancement. Further, the Professors also reviewed the course/programme curriculum of the two departments and provided their inputs to improve the academic quality.
The Professors also interacted with the two students from JNEC who were away in WUST, Poland for a semester in 2019. The interaction was to understand the administrative and other logistic issues so that better approaches can be devised to address inconveniences faced by exchange students in the near future. The Professors also asked the JNEC exchange students on the knowledge and skills gained during their stay in WUST and the impact in their lives.
The Professors will be visiting the Office of the Vice Chancellor, Thimphu to discuss additional areas of collaboration, strengthen the linkage and promote academic programmes. The Professors will leave Bhutan on 11th March 2020.
