The Jigme Namgyel Engineering College is located 800 m above MSL with hot and humid weather almost throughout the year. In such weather, washing and drying cloth has become really challenging. After knowing the situation in college, Helping Hand Club came up with an installation of a washing machine service with a minimal fee. And it is the mandate of the club to work holistically for benefit of the community. The charges are finalized taking into consideration existing market rates and the affordability of students. The washing machines are brought with club savings. If this service becomes successful, after liquidating the initial cost price incurred, the fee collected would be used for supporting the economically disadvantaged individuals financially.
The washing machine service was inaugurated by President along with DSA and Club advisor on 30th August.
