The public procurement management is considered to be one of the most critical functions for all the government institutions across the globe owing to the rapid development of purchasing activities, dynamic market and modern technologies and with no exception to Bhutan. About 60% of the RGoB spending is in public procurement in Bhutan and requires competent personnel to manage the spendings.
Jigme Namgyel Engineering College (JNEC), Royal University of Bhutan (RUB) in collaboration with the Department of National Property (DNP), Ministry of Finance is conducting training programs on Public Procurement Management with a view to educate and familiarize the concerned executives/procurement personnels with all the relevant rules and procedures of public procurement.
The training is expected to upskill and reskill the participants in the areas of Public Procurement, as well as enhance their competencies and managerial skills in the effective management of the procurement processes. The training is also expected to develop their analytical skills, research skills, financial skills, and inventory management skills.
A total of 75 procurement personnels from different ministries and government agencies are expected to be trained during a month long training program which commenced on 31st December, 2021, at College of Natural Resources (CNR), Lobesa, Punakha.
The training program is funded by the Government of India (GOI).
