The Superintendent of Police, Lt. Colonel Chogyal Drukpa from Samdrup Jongkhar, visited Jigme Namgyel Engineering College to talk to students and staff about the law and its consequences. Lt. Colonel Chogyal Drukpa summarized the prevailing crime rates and different categories of offenses observed within the Samdrup Jongkhar Dzongkhag. He highlighted the strategies employed by the police to effectively address these issues.
Stressing the importance of abiding by the law, he emphasized the serious consequences that come with criminal actions. The talk also encompassed the fundamental rights entitled to every citizen, along with the essential role of responsible citizenship in the fight against crime.
In addition to these insights, he offered invaluable guidance to students on staying away from criminal activities and outlined the appropriate steps for reporting any encountered or suspected crimes.
